Unless you’ve been living under a rather large soundproof rock for the past week you won’t know what I’m driveling on about. So here’s the general idea; Taylor Swift won an award at the VMAs this year and during her acceptance speech the genius Kanye West interrupted her and stated that Beyoncé should have won the award – sparking many boos from the crowd and everyone on the internet ever.
Literally nanoseconds had passed before people around the world armed with a slight sense of humour and Photoshop began creating pictures of Mr. West interrupting other moments of history, such as:
And so on.
This is all of course very amusing, but the joke is over now people. Sorry to disappoint but I think it really is running out of steam. There have of course been some videos to accompany the pictures.
And now it seems that celebrities are getting in on the act by parodying Kanye and his outburst such as Jack White and Jimmy Kimmel.
Never has one event become so accepted in popular culture over such a sort space of time, and I think its relative overnight success has led to its downfall. No doubt jokes will keep being made for probably the next few weeks, but all of them getting weaker and weaker by comparison. However as old as it gets, it doesn’t stop Kanye from looking any more foolish.
