Never Enough Exposure

It seems this week a lot of artist’s have announced that they either want to appear on TV or are going to in the near future. Not just in little TV interviews or the ‘special guest’ on some daytime television cooking programme, but on an actual show. This doesn’t come as much of a suprise as PR is still running wild in the music biz and there is simply never enough exposure to the limelight.

Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry have been announced as participants on ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ in the USA, to mark its tenth anniversary. A variety of celebrities are taking part in the show, but I can’t say I thought Snoop Dogg would be one of them. It could be that he’s a huge fan of the show, or perhaps he wants to do his bit for charity (one correct answer is worth $50,000). Mind you Snoop is no stranger to being on TV after his somewhat shortlived E! series ‘Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood’.

Another face in music has reportedly been in talks over appearing on a highly successful American TV show, that person is none other than Victoria Beckham. Following the news that Paula Abdul quit the judging panel for American Idol, it has been reported that Simon Cowell has approached ‘Posh’ as a replacement. Currently only enlisted for 2 episodes of the new season, the Daily Mirror reports “Victoria’s profile Stateside has never been higher. Network bosses would love to give her the job full-time and it looks like it’s there for her if she wants it.” Despite this though, Victoria Beckham wants to apparently focus on her fashion career for the time being.

The final artist I have seen this week to be associated with a TV show is the rapper Dizzee Rascal. He has declared his love for the BBC soap Eastenders and is apparently appealing for a chance to appear on the show. The rapper claims that acting is a “natural progression” from music. An Eastenders spokesperson told the NME that Dizzee is “very welcome to swing by the Queen Vic if he’s ever in Walford”. So it seems Dizzee Rascal is set for a cameo role at least in the soap, some people think he’s bonkers you know?
